DR. C. STARCK JOHNSON
Dr. C. Starck Johnson is the team ophthalmologist for the Denver Broncos and formerly for the Denver Nuggets. He grew up in Denver and, since returning with his family, has been a leading innovator in LASIK surgery, cataract surgery and corneal care in the Rocky Mountain Region. Dr. Johnson and InSight Vision Group use state-of-the-art technology. He introduced the Allegretto Wave Eye-Q 400 in 2008 and the Zeimer Femtosecond Laser in 2009 to Colorado. Dr. Johnson is very personable and will make you feel comfortable, relaxed and safe throughout your laser procedure.
Dr. Ketty Lee
Dr. Ketty Lee will provide a thorough candidacy evaluation along with any necessary preoperative and postoperative care for Laser Vision Correction and Cataract Surgery at InSight Vision Group. She brings over 17 years of experience in laser eye surgery, medical care, and other refractive surgery consultations. She is fluent in Portuguese and Mandarin and has working knowledge of Spanish. Dr. Lee is a proud mother of twin girls and enjoys watching them experience life. She has a passion for art, travel, and learning about different cultures. She also enjoys many outdoor activities offered in our beautiful state.
Dr. Robert E. Prouty
Dr. Prouty is a native Coloradoan but was raised in San Diego, California. Dr. Prouty started his practice in Colorado in 1985 and served as a consultant at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Department of Surgery. He co-founded a large subspecialty practice in Denver and served as the Center Director for 28 years. He joined Specialty Eye Care (SEC) in Parker, Colorado in 2013. Dr. Prouty and his wife, Lee Ann, ride horses, wrangle chickens and dogs, and enjoy a pastoral life east of Parker. For fun, he hikes, bikes, ATVs and explores the Colorado high country but is especially passionate about fly-fishing in the Leadville area with his children and his 3 grandchildren.
Dr. Carl Tubbs
Dr. Carl Tubbs is a native of Washington State. He completed his medical training in Seattle, and then studied Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota before finally completing a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Virginia in 1993. On completing training, he and his wife Christine moved to Stillwater, MN where they lived for 20 years while raising two wonderful boys. Eventually, family commitments and new opportunity brought them back west to Denver, returning to the mountain country that they both love. When not working, Dr. Tubbs is active with hiking, gardening, skiing and bicycling, and loves exploring the Denver environment with family. When the sky allows, he continues to enjoy astrophotography, imaging distant stars and other deep space objects as well as the planets, and learning about backyard astronomy and science.
Dr. Richard Stewart
Dr. Rich Stewart moved to Colorado in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and has been in private practice in Boulder County for the last 8 years. He has offices in Boulder, Longmont, and Fort Collins. Dr. Stewart is a Board-Certified diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is an experienced glaucoma, cataract, and LASIK surgeon. He specializes in surgical glaucoma, complex cataract surgery, and refractive surgical techniques that provide optimal visual outcomes. He is on the admitting staff at several Denver and Boulder County hospitals where he provides trauma service coverage. Dr. Stewart lives in the Denver area foothills with his wife, two daughters, and two energetic golden retrievers. He volunteers on international medical missions projects as his schedule permits.
Dr. Teresa Carlson
Dr. Carlson is a native of Colorado, having been raised in Wyoming, who thoroughly enjoys the Rocky Mountains and embraces the environmental challenges for ocular comfort and vision. After completing her doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr. Carlson returned to Colorado in 2000. Her passion has taken her around the world for medical eye care by volunteering for medical teams to Madagascar, Cambodia, Ecuador, Honduras, South Africa, Mali (West Africa), and Mexico. Dr. Carlson and her family enjoy running, riding horses, SCUBA diving, snow skiing, hiking, and traveling.
Dr. Alan Barber
Originally from Missouri, Dr. Alan Barber received his degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. During his training he completed internships at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and the Harry S. Truman Memorial VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Barber has extensive experience in ocular disease management and post-surgical care. Since joining Insight Vision Group in 2009, he has participated in several research studies.
Dr. Michael Bollenbacher
Dr. Bollenbacher received his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Optometry degrees at the University of Houston. Upon finishing his doctorate, he began working at a multi-specialty medical group in Houston before moving to Colorado in 1999. Since then, he has gained extensive experience in refractive surgery and ophthalmic pathology consultation while working at two refractive surgery centers, in private practice, and as an Adjunct Professor with the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Marc Otto
Dr. Marc Otto, originally from Arizona, moved to Denver in the summer of 2013. He received a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Otto is licensed in full-scope care: glaucoma, and refractive surgical consultations including pre and post-operative care for cataract, and LASIK procedures. Dr. Otto and his wife love the Colorado slopes: He snowboarding and she skiing. They enjoy camping and fly fishing.
DR. CRYSTAL KASPER
Dr. Crystal Kasper was born and raised in Indiana. After graduating with honors from Indiana University with a Bachelor degree in Biology, she obtained her Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2009. After clinical training, Dr. Kasper gained experience in low vision rehabilitation, pediatrics, visual perceptional disorders, neurorehabilitation, oculoplastics, laser vision correction, glaucoma, cornea and diseases of all ages. Since 2009, Dr. Kasper has practiced in multi-doctor facilities. She has experience in every aspect of eye care and with the latest technology available in the field.
DR. THOMAS CRUSE
Dr. Cruse received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. His Doctor of Optometry degree is from the Illinois College. Upon finishing his doctorate, he began a residency and working at a multi-specialty medical group in Colorado. Dr. Cruse is a medical optometrist focusing on ocular disease and pathology consultation. He is an Adjunct Professor with the University of Houston College of Optometry.
